Water rate increase for Dallas under review

Oct. 15, 2026
Barron County, Wisconsin
The Public Service Commission of Wisconsin (PSC) is reviewing an application for a water rate increase for Dallas. Back in January of this year, the Dallas Municipal Water Utility filed the application due to a “negative rate of return.”
In documentation addressed to Dallas Clerk-Treasurer Lynn Anderson on Sept. 2, 2026, the PSC stated, “Under the rates proposed in the Exhibit, a typical Single-Family Residential customer’s bill would increase 53.22 percent.”
There are several opportunities for individuals to learn more about the proposed increase and make public comments:
A written public comment period with the PSC is open until Oct. 16, 2026.
